Family Home and Child Play Space Consultations

Ages 0-9

A child’s nature is play.

Children are learning about their body, environment, focus, relationships, and pretend.

Play is not an option.

A safe place to play nurtures family joy, building partnerships between parent, child and sibling.

Integrated home and play spaces include age-appropriate toys, work areas for one or more children supporting sibling stages of development, and a physically safe place for play. If a play space is not safe, children can’t explore freely, and adults can’t settle into a child’s exploration.  This is particularly true for the infant and toddler.  Children seek their parent or caregiver so they can feel seen and delighted in.  Play space consultations supports the adult and child attachment while honoring autonomy for the child.

Too many toys can feel overwhelming to children.  It can feel overwhelming to adults as well.  Adults and children work best in a home that is calming to the senses, allows for focus, is not overwhelming to clean, and where objects can be found.

Play is hands-on.

It is where children demonstrate their nature, temperament, and what is on their mind.

Play space consultations are unique to each family.  When children are free to work then adults can observe, be present, worry less and enjoy their young ones.
