Working With Schools

School support includes student and or staff observations, consultations, mentorship, and mediation.  Working as a team is a powerful school-based model which allows students and staff the capacity to focus on their strengths with expansion and depth.  Understanding social-emotional learning, developmental stages, sensory sensitivity and temperament, culture and gender identification creates a path of knowing the other with respect.  Schools are community- based with diverse staff and family history.  Schools are a rich and complicated model for how we live and learn together.  School consultations promote understanding of the educational and relational needs of children and adults.

Carol and I began talking when my daughter was 22 months old, and I’m so grateful that we connected when we did. Carol has become a mentor for me, helping me to navigate the challenges and joys of parenting a toddler, and providing support and a space to explore my own parenting style. I live in Northern California and our conversations are by phone, but even at a distance, Carol’s calm, kind, heartful guidance has been invaluable. From weaning to night wakings to picky eating, Carol has helped me to slow down and really listen to and reflect my daughter, and to respond with my own intuition. She is extremely knowledgeable about early childhood development, and has garnered deep wisdom and experience working with families for many years. Our conversations are a completely safe, non-judgmental place for me to share concerns, talk about challenges, problem-solve, and learn about how to best support my toddler now and into the future. I am lucky to have found her, and recommend her highly!
